History Walk: On the 28th July we will be strolling between Shoreham and Eynsford. The walk will start at Shoreham Filston Lane car park (Filston Lane, Shoreham, Sevenoaks TN14 7SP). We will make our way through Shoreham along the Darent Valley Way to Eynsford. We will be making our way through Hop Fields, past Castles and Churches. Along the way we will hear tales of arguments over war memorials, forgeries of fine art and the obligatory ghostly monk haunting a ruined castle.
History Walk: On the 25th August we will be strolling from Goodnestone to visit some of the nearby villages. The walk will start at Goodnestone Car Park. There is also parking available along the side of the road in Goodnestone village in what is called the Street. There will be a slightly later start to this walk just in case people wish to take advantage of the delicious breakfast that is available at the Old Dairy Cafe. From the car park we will make our way to Nonington and then wind our way through the Bruderhof community and onto the tiny village of Knowlton. From there we will stroll onto Chillenden and then make our way back through the field and forest to Goodnestone. Along the way we will hear tales of multi-generational naval disasters, famous English authors and why a village would be called Thankful.
History Walk: On the 22nd September we will be strolling from Bekesbourne to visit some of the nearby villages. The walk will start at Bekesbourne train station car park. From the car park we will make our way to Littlebourne taking advantage of some of the public footpaths that take us within sight of some of the animals at Howletts. From Littlebourne we will stroll alongside the River Bourne onto the idyllic village of Wickhambreaux and then via Seaton to Ickham and back to Bekesbourne. Along the way we will hear tales of dambusters, rock aristocracy and authors of famous spy stories.
History Walk: On Sunday 27th October we will be walking around the village of Pluckley and the nearby Dering Woods. Along the way we will hear tales of spooks and ghouls that are said to haunt this fair Kentish place. Stories of the undead will include a lovelorn monk, an unfortunate highwayman and an old gypsy lady who met a terrifying end.
